The major industry in Greene County is Coal with a capital "C."
It is believed that the largest underground coal mine is located in Greene County, and the largest coal reserves are found here as well.Exit I-79 at Waynesburg, Pa, Exit 3 and follow Route 21 East to Carmichaels, Pennsylvania. Carmichaels is only a short drive south of Pittsburgh.
Join with the friendly folk of Greene Couty as they pay homage to the industry that drives the local economy. You will find entertainment, a parade, the coronation of the Coal Queen, and all the festivities and trappings that accompany the celebration of KING COAL.
